Phil Barone Traditional Contemporary Soprano Sax Mouthpiece The Traditional Contemporary soprano model is similar to the Contemporary but has a lower baffle. It is very responsive, has a very warm sound, and produces plenty of volume. It is recommended for pop and jazz music,
and is used by Ernie Watts.

These hard rubber beauties emulate the older style classical soprano mouthpieces that were so popular and used on so many Jazz recordings. They play with tremendous ease and the intonation locks in unlike other mouthpieces. The sound is dark, warm, centered, and the high notes respond comfortably and without a lot of effort. If you double a lot and need something that works in a clinch the Vintage model comes highly recommended.
